چکیده

Current research highlighted the importance to recognize feasible biomarkers for early diagnoses and treatment in oral cancer. Our study analyzed expression spatial distribution of ALDH1A1, FGFR2, caspase-3, CD44 Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC) leukoplakia with without mucosal dysplasia. Paraffin-embedded samples OSCC (n=5), (n=5) dysplasia obtained by incisional biopsies were processed using conventional histochemical techniques. Immunohistochemistry was performed antibodies against CD44. Images immunohistochemically stained tissue sections according intensity immunostaining each marker classified Scores. The Kruskal-Wallis test (p≤0.05). results demonstrated a statically difference all immunomarkers between dysplasia, being more significant FGFR2 ALDH1A1. Within limitations this study, our data showed that overexpressed mucosa suggesting presence is clinic-pathologic predictor malignant transformation.

Human MutL homolog 1 immunoexpression in oral leukoplakia and oral squamous cell carcinoma: A prospective study in Indian population

BACKGROUND Mammalian mismatch repair system is responsible for maintaining genomic stability during repeated duplications, and human MutL homolog 1 (hMLH1) protein constitutes an important part of it. Various isolated studies have reported the altered expression of hMLH1 in oral leukoplakia (OL) and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Research is lacking in the quantitative estimation and comp...

Assessment of Bax and Bcl-2 Immunoexpression in Patients with Oral Lichen Planus and Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Lichen planus (LP) is a chronic inflammatory disease of probable immune-based etiology. The pathogenesis of LP is unclear, but apoptotic changes in epidermal (epithelial) cells have been reported. Destruction of the basal cell layer is observed and many changes in cell proliferation, cell repair and cell death occur in the injured mucosal epithelium. The aim of this study was to evaluate and co...

Detection of Apoptosis in Leukoplakia and Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma using Methyl Green Pyronin and Hematoxylin and Eosin

Background & Objective: Cell population and turnover are controlled by a balance between cell proliferation and apoptosis. Detection of apoptosis in oral cancer contributes to its better prognosis and improved management. This study aimed to quantify apoptotic cells in leukoplakia and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) using methyl green-pyronin (MGP) and hematoxylin and eosin...

Cytokeratin alteration in oral leukoplakia and oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Intermediate filaments are involved in cell migration and intracellular signal transduction pathways. In a variety of organs, the expression of distinct intermediary filaments are further associated with distinct steps of malignant transformation. In this study, we seeked to define the cytokeratin (Ck) expression pattern in oral leukoplakia and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). One hundred a...

Stromal myofibroblasts in oral leukoplakia and oral squamous cell carcinoma

OBJECTIVES Oral leukoplakia (OL) is the main potentially malignant disorder and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most common malignancy of the oral mucosa. Stromal myofibroblasts play an important role in tumor invasion and metastasis, due to its ability to modify the extracellular matrix. This study aimed to evaluate the presence of stromal myofibroblasts in OL and OSCC. Differences ...
